Several years ago, two lawsuits came against a most popular fast-food burger joint. The first lawsuit was a man blaming the restaurant chain for his heart attack, claiming all the greasy, unhealthy food he consumed played a major part in his heart’s demise. The second was a mom blaming the restaurant for making her kid obese. She stated, “You just don’t know how hard it is to say ‘No’ when they advertise all those prizes and toys.” Crazy? One may even say those lawsuits were downright ridiculous! But what about us? Don’t we do those sorts of things often? Blaming others is nothing new. Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the serpent in the very beginning. The truth is, it is always easier to blame others instead of ourself. However, real change happens when we own our mistakes, and ask God to help us improve. What about you this week? What do you need to claim? Where is God calling you to be better? -Michael
